Malayza Man, whom was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota is a dynamic individual in every sense of the word. Through modeling, acting, hosting, and style dancing, it is empirical that her determination and hard work in delivering what is asked of her, will propel her successes in all fields.
At an early age, Malayza was exposed to the Creative Arts through observations of her parents’ native band. She launched her acting career when she was casted to play two roles in the “Kids in Conflict” VHS series (Mitchell Anthony, circa 1990), which was filmed in her hometown. While attending high school, Malayza was a nice addition to three different danceline teams, one being a competitive team. Still in high school Malayza studied modeling and acting through Barbizon Modeling and Talent Agency School where she graduated with all the proper training which helped make her successful today.
Malayza currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and is presently working in many elements of entertainment. She has on-going work with The House of DJs where not only does she model; she also does appearances, voiceovers for media work, and hosts (MC’s) at artists’ showcases and album releases. When Malayza isn’t working for the House of DJ’s, she is gracing; website advertisements for GovernLife.com, mixtape covers for “Twin Cities Hip Hop Award Nominee” Mac Irv, and also snabs front cover EVOL Magazine’s Fall Issue, where her profile reads Twin Cities Most Eligible Bachelorette.
Most eligible indeed, this ambitious Asian-American who is now named one of our own Minnesota Beauties, has always done what is not “popular” to do. When asked if she had any advice for new aspiring models Malayza’s response left me in admiration…
“While I think every model should keep a diverse portfolio that includes every genre. I believe that the best models are the ones that can convey sexiness with her clothes on. If not all of time at least the majority…seriously when all you have in your portfolio is lingerie, swimsuit, and implied, you’ve limited yourself not just in modeling, but in life too. For instance, a year from now if you wanted to be a teacher, an author, a business owner, you can’t crossover without criticism about your tainted image. Once you put yourself out there like that, you can’t take it back.”
-Malayza Man, December 2011
…she then adds that she’s not knocking the other models for taking that route and if that’s the route that newcomers want to take then plan a slow progression towards that. “Don’t just give it up so easily. Strategy is the key.” she seductively giggles.
On another note, Malayza is also training to cheer for a certain “Purple & Gold” Minnesota football team. She, along with her teammates, have been diligently training with professionals until audition season (which begins in April 2012). When Malayza is not modeling, acting, dancing, or hosting, she likes to travel to warmer destinations and often thinks about what she’ll have her hand in next.
An interesting fact that I learned about her, is that, she is learning how to play the drums! I asked her why the interest in drumming because it is not often that a beauty such as herself, would take on such a masculine interest, in her little-big voice she replies “Because I want to Rock out with my SOCK out!” I couldn’t help but want to ‘Rock out’ with her too!
At the end of our interview, our new and humble Minnesota Beauty mentions that she is endlessly thankful for her unique upbringing, “I grew up in a home where both of my parents were talented in music, acting, modeling, designing, and creating. I can’t think of a better way to show my appreciation of how complexsively great my parents are, other than through what they love to do best… through the Creative Arts.” As she gives gratitude where it is due, Minnesota would like to wish Malayza the best in everything she is doing now and look forward to see what she will accomplish in the near future…
